Hello, how can we help you?

Why did the USD balance of my REMESITA card change by itself?

If you have asked yourself this question, you should first understand that the balance on your card never changes unless you reload or spend it.

Remittance does not charge any commission for account management or hidden monthly payments.

The Funds of your Visa Card are stored and guarded in Mexican pesos to comply with the regulation (you can learn more about this in the following article: What currency are my VISA card funds stored in and why?

Remittance always operates in USD and that is why we give you the balance of your card in USD for information purposes, but this value is referential and is given by Visa's internal exchange rate from MXN to USD at the time you are viewing the conversion.

Regardless of the fact that the funds are in Mexican pesos, you can transact in other currencies and it is Visa that internally does the conversion.

Example : If from CUBA you use the card in a store that charges in MLC (equivalent to USD) and they charge you 5.00 mlc, Visa will convert 5.00 usd to MXN using its internal exchange rate.
